Race Team

Get your USA Cycling license, and ride for Team VICC, presented by Sarasota General Dentistry. Race kits will only be made available to those with licenses that reflect our team. Look for VICC Racing at a Road or Cyclocross race near you!

Annual USAC Race license

All Team members must have a current USA Cycling license in order to race with the team. All Team members must be current in their Village Idiots Cycling Club dues. To obtain a race license go on www.usacycling.org website and purchase an annual race license. Your license is good for 1 year and may be purchased starting in December of the previous year. Your race license must read “Village Idiots Racing”  or our sponsors race name in order to be a team member.

Team Kit

Team members must purchase the approved team race kit which includes: Jersey, shorts or bibs and team T-shirt or Tech-T. Arm warmers, leg warmers, gloves, and vest are optional but encouraged.

All team members must wear and abide by all USAC uniform rules during races.

Qualified Races

Qualified races include USAC or MBAA road, mountain, time trial, criterium (30+ minutes) or cyclocross races.
For endurance events such as “24 hours of the Santos” etc. every 6 hours of racing will be considered a qualified race. (If you race on a 2 man team and ride 12 hours of the race this would count as 2 events, solo 24 would count as 4 events).
Criteriums must be 30 minutes or more.

TEAM APPLICATION

Each member must fill out an annual team application and have a current USAC race license in order to race with RND/VICC

TEAM STANDARDS

As a Team member you are sponsored racer representing your team and the clubs, as such you are an ambassador of the Club,Team and our sponsors. It is highly recommended when participating in all group rides, training rides, shop functions and activities that team members wear team kit and team apparel. Team kits are required during races. We are proud to be Village Idiots. “Represent, yo!” Our race team members are directly representing our club and our sponsors, and as such any offenses involving moral turpitude are grounds for removal from the race team. Racing is a privilege, not a right. Examples are:

(1)  Personal misconduct in the private and social duties which a person owes to his fellow human beings or to society in general, which characterizes the act done as an act of baseness, vileness or depravity, and contrary to the accepted and customary rule of right and duty between two human beings.
(2)  Conduct done knowingly contrary to justice, honesty or good morals.
(3)  Intentional, knowing or reckless conduct causing bodily injury to another or intentional, knowing or reckless conduct which, by physical menace, puts another in fear of imminent serious bodily injury.
